This limited edition remarkable piece of WW2 Australian military history. This inkwell was only made to be gifted on behalf of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) and made from a combination of steel and a form of black stone possibly Black Onyx.
It features an elephant figure with an upraised trunk, symbolising strength and good luck. The use of Onyx as a shield against negative energy and destructive forces dates back centuries.
This elegant inkwell would have been a significant gift, no doubt made for an important dignitary, politician or serviceman. It is a valuable reminder of that era's historical significance and craftsmanship.
